Once you've added a plant to your SFG bed and adjusted the planting schedules and variety etc, you can extend it out to fill the entire bed or create a row or small collection of blocks with the same planting type.Įxtending the planting out is useful for plants that grow well in a block, like Sweetcorn, that need to be close together to pollinate each other. Have a look in the right-hand menu when the planting block is selected. You will find information regarding good/bad neighbor plants. Choose vegetables that harmonise well together.

The Veggie Garden Planner provides you with clearly arranged information that you need to quickly compose your vegetable garden patch. Adjust the variety, planting schedule or number of plants per squareĪs row-based plantings, you can enter a variety and adjust the Sow, Plant Out and Harvest dates and change the number of plants per square. If a plant needs more that one square, for example, Pumpkins, VegPlotter will draw the planting over multiple squares to account for the plant's extra space. You'll notice that VegPlotter lets you know exactly how many plants you can plant in that 1-foot square and draws the planting icons in the optimal orientation. Once you have selected the 1-foot square, unclick or lift your finger to stop the drag and VegPlotter will save the planting in that location. You add plants to your SFG beds on your garden plan in the same way you do for the standard row type beds. You can also add exact measurements in the right-hand menu rather than dragging to resize the beds. Garden Planner includes thousands of pre-designed flowers, shrubs, vegetables and fruit components which you can drop into your design. Of course, as it's all on the computer, you can easily move flowers, change the layout until you are happy. The Planner enables you to select the size and dimension of your (potential) garden, then sit down and configure as required. One alternative is a tool such as Garden Planner. Either way, depending on the size of your garden and requirements, it's an expensive process. If you have a garden which needs a makeover, one solution would be to hire a professional designer to take a look, spend some time coming up with a solution, source all the components and hire people to make the design a reality.
